Not A Number consists of insightful pieces written from the perspective of a former foster youth from Los Angeles, California. Covering a wide array of topics from reviews to news recaps and even short pieces reflecting on time spent in the system, Not A Number exists to serve the foster care community from all angles. Written for current foster/adoptive parents to learn and grow, and for former foster youth to cope. Foster youth are "not a number," they're survivors.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jessica Castillo is a former foster youth from Los Angeles, California. Having written on the topic of foster care since 2014, Jessica has been published in Foster Focus Magazine, Fostering Families Today Magazine, The Imprint, and Transfiguring Adoption, and continues to write for these publications today. She has three books published titled "Foster Care: Not Broken, Just Bent," "Surviving and Thriving in Foster Care" and her memoir "Trash Bag of Memories," all of which are available on Amazon.
